Can you believe I saved this paper from 2001 #proud owners!
Our family moved to Kamsack from Calgary back in 2001 and purchased Hawryluk Agency Inc. from the previous owners above. They provided mentorship for the first 2 years, showing us the ropes to continue to provide the personalized service you expect and deserve. With that being said, we have the first hand experience you are looking for if your situation is similar (moving from a big city to a smaller town). The struggle of finding a new home and selling your existing home is very real. What you are looking for is the knowledge of experienced agents and that is exactly what you find at Hawryluk Agency Inc.
One of the main reasons we moved to Kamsack was because of the small life style along with an opportunity to improve our quality of life. In Kamsack you will find no traffic jams, virtually no driving time to get to and from work, access to very affordable sports activities for the kids, a beautiful 9 hole golf course and numerous other recreation opportunities close by. With Duck Mountain Provincial Park being only 15 minutes away, it was very easy to enjoy parking our fifth wheel trailer in one of the most beautiful campgrounds anywhere. Madge Lake is only a short stroll from anywhere in the campground. Madge Lake is perfect for fishing, water skiing, swimming or just a leisurely boat ride around the lake. There is also a very green and lush 18 hole golf course.
Getting involved in Kamsack activities was important to us because, as community minded people, we could help our clients by becoming directly involved in events in and around our town. Rod jumped right in and became our Chamber of Commerce president in 2001. I still remember how my family was in the annual parade every year. Would that have happened in the big city? I doubt it!
these are my 2 babies at the parade!
Maureen was really in to the theatre in town as, at this time, the kids were 3 and 5, and she wanted to ensure this volunteer operated venue would be alive and well for many years to come. During this involvement, Maureen would eventually become president of the Kamsack Playhouse Theatre which entailed ordering and scheduling movies and organizing the yearly Christmas in November trade show with the help of numerous other volunteers.
If you are moving your family to Kamsack, Duck Mountain Provincial Park or any of the other small towns in the area, getting involved with rink activities is a must. Rod served as president of Kamsack Minor Hockey, which continues to be a very well run organization, providing an entertaining hockey program with lots of ice time for practices and games for players from age 3 or 4 all the way up to 17. There are many hours each week allocated to shinny and public skating and you could never get this kind of rink access in the cities. Curling is very popular as well, for families, singles and seniors, so keeping busy in the winter is very easy.
Thank you for taking the time to know us better. Kamsack is a truly wonderful place to raise a family and an excellent retirement option due to our reasonable real estate prices. We are always happy to answer any questions you might have about Kamsack and our wonderful community. (Below this I will be sending you a picture of me, Maureen Humeniuk and Rod Hilderman, please put our names at the bottom of the pictures and maybe in the middle can you place the RENE LOGO? Then at the bottom place the Kamsack logo. ) Thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate it, Maureen.
